Biomass Power Generation

Working Principle of Industrial Dust Removal Filter Bags

  • In biomass power generation, industrial dust removal filter bags mainly work based on the principle of filtration. The filter bag is made of special filter materials with fine pores. When the flue gas containing dust particles generated during the biomass power generation process passes through the filter bag, the dust particles are intercepted by the filter material due to their larger size than the pores of the filter material, while the clean gas can pass through the filter bag and be discharged. This achieves the separation of dust and gas, playing an important role in purifying the flue gas and protecting the environment.

Types of Filter Bags Commonly Used in Biomass Power Generation

  • PPS Filter Bags: Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) filter bags have excellent chemical resistance and thermal stability. They can withstand high temperatures up to 190°C - 200°C for a long time and have good resistance to acid and alkali corrosion. In biomass power generation, where the flue gas may contain various corrosive gases, PPS filter bags are very suitable as they can maintain stable filtration performance in harsh environments.

  • PTFE Filter Bags: Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) filter bags have extremely high temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and wear resistance. They can work stably at temperatures up to 260°C. PTFE filter bags have a very low surface energy, which makes it difficult for dust to adhere to the surface of the filter bag, facilitating dust removal and improving the filtration efficiency and service life of the filter bag.

  • Glass Fiber Filter Bags: Glass fiber filter bags have high temperature resistance, good mechanical strength and high filtration accuracy. They can be used in high-temperature flue gas filtration in biomass power plants. The surface of glass fiber filter bags can be treated with special coatings to improve their anti-corrosion and anti-wear properties, making them more suitable for the complex flue gas conditions in biomass power generation.

Advantages of Using Filter Bags in Biomass Power Generation

  • High Filtration Efficiency: Industrial dust removal filter bags can effectively remove fine dust particles in the flue gas of biomass power generation, and the filtration efficiency can reach over 99%. This can significantly reduce the dust content in the flue gas and meet the increasingly stringent environmental protection emission standards.

  • Stable Performance: Filter bags have stable physical and chemical properties and can maintain good filtration performance during long-term operation in the flue gas environment of biomass power plants. They have strong adaptability to changes in flue gas volume, temperature and dust concentration, ensuring the stable operation of the dust removal system.

  • Low Resistance: Well-designed filter bags have relatively low resistance, which can reduce the energy consumption of the fan in the flue gas treatment system and save operating costs. At the same time, low resistance is also conducive to improving the overall efficiency of the flue gas treatment system.

  • Good Economy: Although the initial investment in filter bags is relatively high, due to their long service life, low maintenance costs and high filtration efficiency, they can bring good economic benefits in the long run. They can reduce the frequency of equipment maintenance and replacement, improve the operation efficiency of the power plant and reduce the comprehensive cost of power generation.

Maintenance and Replacement of Filter Bags

  • Regular Inspection: During the operation of the biomass power plant, it is necessary to regularly inspect the filter bags to check for damage, blockage and wear. Visual inspection and pressure difference monitoring can be used to judge the working condition of the filter bag. If the pressure difference across the filter bag is too high or there is a significant decrease in filtration efficiency, it may indicate that the filter bag is blocked or damaged and needs to be dealt with in a timely manner.

  • Cleaning: Filter bags can be cleaned regularly to remove dust accumulated on the surface. Common cleaning methods include reverse air cleaning and pulse jet cleaning. Reverse air cleaning uses reverse air flow to blow off the dust on the filter bag surface, while pulse jet cleaning uses high-pressure air jets to quickly remove dust. Appropriate cleaning methods should be selected according to the type of filter bag and the characteristics of the dust to ensure the cleaning effect and avoid damage to the filter bag.

  • Replacement: When the filter bag is severely damaged, worn or has a significant decrease in filtration performance after long-term use, it needs to be replaced in a timely manner. When replacing the filter bag, it is necessary to select a filter bag with the correct model and specification to ensure a good fit with the dust removal equipment and to restore the filtration performance of the dust removal system.

In conclusion, industrial dust removal filter bags play a crucial role in biomass power generation. By effectively removing dust in flue gas, they help to improve the environmental protection level and economic efficiency of biomass power plants and promote the sustainable development of the biomass power generation industry.
